Dr L.D. Sota

Ophthalmology
Prof. L.D. Sota received his M.B.B.S. degree in 1963, and did his post-graduation in Ophthalmology (M.S.) with distinction in 1968 from University of Delhi. He has also received the degrees of Z.O. (Vienna), D.O.M.S. (Vienna) and L.V.A. (London) in 1971. He went on to become Professor of Ophthalmology, Director and Head of Guru Nanak Eye Centre at Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi.

Professor Sota has been ex-President of the Delhi Ophthalmological Society, as well as Vice President of the National Society for the Prevention of Blindness (NSPB), President of the Indian Contact Lens Society, and Chairman (Academic & Research Committee) of the All India Ophthalmological Society for six years. He has received various awards and honours including the prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy National Award from the Medical Council of India given by the President of India, Gold Medal from the Indian Contact Lens Society, and the Dr. P.K. Jain Oration Award from the Delhi Ophthalmological Society. He has numerous publications in National and International journals to his credit, and has participated and organized various national and international conferences and instruction courses.
